Rules for UG Programmes

1. 5% marks will be deducted in case of faculty change students seeking admission from Science to Arts/ Commerce, Arts to Commerce and Commerce to Fine Arts Faculty . This will be done while preparing the merit list so as to benefit students of the same faculty.
2 While preparing the merit list 5% marks will be deducted of those vocational courses students who have passed their senior secondary exam and are desirous to seek admission to the first year of B.A. and B.Com Course.
3 Students who have failed in one faculty can change their faculty on the basis of their qualifying exams provided their general conduct and practice have been satisfactory. Such student will be considered as new entrant Faculty change is allowed only once
4 Students who have passed their last qualifying exam either in 2020 or 2019 and have not taken admission any where in the interim Period, will be considered new entrants. Such student must give an undertaking on a paper stating that they have not taken admission any where.
5 Students who have passed their last qualifying exam in 2018 or before that will not be eligible for admission.
6 Admission of Non-Collegiate Candidates: A candidate passing the First Year/Second Year/Part I/ Part II Examination of a course of study as a non-collegiate candidate (wherever permitted) shall not be eligible for admission the next higher class in a college. However, a candidate passing the previous examination of a course of study as a non-collegiate candidate may be considered for admission to the next higher class of the same course of study if seats are available, provided.
(I) A candidate who secures a minimum of 50% marks in the case of Faculties of Arts, Fine Arts and Social Sciences, and 55% marks in the case of Faculties of Science and Commerce in the aggregate at the First Year /Part I Examination of the University or an examination recognized by the University as equivalent there to shall be eligible for admission as a regular student to the next higher class of the same course of study.
(II) A candidate who has passed the First Year/Part I Examination as a regular student and the Second Year/Part II Examination as a non-collegiate candidate shall also be eligible to tale admission to the Final Year/part III class of the same course as a regular student if he/she has obtained a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate at the Second Year/part II Examination.

N.B. : The expression "Non-Collegiate candidates excludes ex-students O 81-1 (iii).

Rules for PG Programmes

DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT ADMISSION IN POST GRADUATE PROGRAMMES
Due to COVID-19 Pandemic for admission to post graduate programmes, the candidates will be required to submit the online Application Form for Post Graduate Courses 2021-22 for which a separate notification will be issued by the University.

1. For students seeking admission to a second or subsequent post-graduate course, 60% marks in the aggregate at the qualifying Bachelor's degree examination or at the PG. examination already passed by the candidate are required.

2. Calculation of Merit:

(a) For calculating the merit of a candidate for admission to M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. courses, the merit list will be prepared by adding the marks obtained by him/her at the qualifying examination(Bachelor's Degree examination) to the marks obtained by him during the 3 year examination in the subject concerned in which he/she seeks admission to his/her post graduation course. This grand total will be converted into percentage.
(b) For subjects where admission is by an entrance test, the merit list will be prepared in accordance with the rules approved for that test.
(c) For Honours students, the percentage of marks obtained at the B.A/B.Sc./B.Com Honours Examination as a whole taking into account the marks obtained in the Honours subject as well as the subsidiary subject(s) will be taken into consideration.
(d) 5% Weightage shall be given to the B.A. B.Sc, and B.Com students seeking admission to the PG. Course in their Honours subject. [This weightage will not be admissible to the students passing B.Sc, B.Ed., (Hons) Examination].

3. Non-Subject Candidates who want to do their post-graduation in the subject which was not studied by them at their Bachelor's degree examination will be considered for admission provided (i) they have obtained at least 55% marks at the Bachelor's degree examination and (ii) the percentage o marks obtained by them at the Bachelor's degree examination is not less than that obtained by the last candidate admitted. The Department may, if necessary conduct a qualifying test for such non-subject candidates. The merit list of the candidates, who qualify will be prepared on the basis of their marks in the aggregate at the first degree examination.
For admission to M.A. (I- Sem.) English, all non-subject candidates will have to pass a Test of Proficiency in English before they can be considered for admission.The number of non-subject students will not exceed 20% of the total strength admitted unless the students with a first degree in the subject concerned are not available.

Note:
i. Candidates with their first Bachelor's Degree in Commerce and Agriculture seeking admission to Post-graduate classes in Economics or Statistics will be considered as candidates of other subject.
ii. In the case of candidates possessing LL B. degree of two or three year course and seeking admission to a Post-graduate Course, the percentage of marks of their first degree examination passed by them before joining the LLB. course will be considered.
iii. For admission to M.A. Previous Anthropology a candidate having a Bachelor's Degree with 48% marks in the aggregate will be deemed eligible for admission.
iv. All B.A/B.Sc. graduates are eligible for admission to M.A./M.Sc. Previous Psychology as non-subject candidates provided they have obtained 55% marks in their Bachelor's Degree Examination. However the number of students from faculties other than Social Sciences will not exceed 20% of the total number of seats for admission.
In case of the Departments where a sufficient number of students with a Bachelor's Degree in that subject are not available, the above rules shall not apply provided that the candidate fulfils the minimum eligibility requirements as given in para 1 above.

ABOUT UNIVERSITY OF RAJASTHAN ADMISSION TEST FOR POSTGRADUATE COURSES (URATPG-2021)
(i) Admission to all the PG Departments of the University of Rajasthan,Jaipur shall be made on the basis of Entrance Test and Academic Merit of the qualifying Examination. However, admissions in all the PG Programmes being run under the faculty of Law shall be made on the basis of marks scored by the candidates in URATPG–2021 examination only.
(ii) Admission to different streams of Faculty of Fine Arts will be given on the basis of marks obtained (70% weightage) in the Test URATPG 2021 + 30% (Marks inqualifying exam) + 30 Marks in the Practical Exam (to be conducted by the Department).
(iii) The candidate belonging to Outright Category (O) is also required to appear in URATPG-2021.
(iv) The process of admission to PG Departments shall be carried out in the following two steps:

FIRST PHASE :
(i) The Candidate is required to go to the University website www.uratpg2021.org for further details regarding application and Admission form submission.
(ii) The candidate can apply for appearing in the Entrance Test for a maximum of 3 (three) test subjects in a single form.
(iii) Requisite fee should be paid online through ICICI Bank payment gateway.

(iv). After online payment of fee the candidate will be redirected to fill the online application Form on the University website www.uratpg2021.org
(v) The applicants are not required to deposit the hard copy of the online application form. However, they are advised to keep the hardcopy of the online application for their own reference.
(vi) The applicants should ensure that the entries of Name and date of birth are as per the Xth Board marksheet.

(viii) Only appearing in the University of Rajasthan Entrance Test (URATPG - 2021) will not ensure admission to a programme of study in the University. Each candidate shall ensure that he/she fulfills the Eligibility Criteria and that the particulars furnished in the Admission Form are complete and correct in all respects. In case, it is detected at any stage that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria and/or has furnished incorrect information or suppressed any material information, his/her candidature will be cancelled and if already admitted, the benefits accrued shall be liable to be forfeited thereon, besides rustication from the University.
(ix) In case the applicant for admission is found to have indulged in ragging in the past or if it is noticed later that he/she has indulged in ragging, admission may be refused or he/she shall be expelled from the educational institution. However, if any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given an opportunity to explain and if his/her explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him/her from the Institution.
(x) NO SEPARATE INTIMATION REGARDING SELECTION TO A PROGRAMME OF STUDY SHALL BE SENT TO THE APPLICANT. THE CANDIDATES ARE DIRECTED TO REMAIN IN TOUCH WITH THE DEPARTMENT CONCERNED AND WATCH THE NOTICE BOARD OF THE CONCERNED DEPARTMENT AND UNIVERSITY ADMISSION WEBSITE (www.uratpg2021.org) FOR DAY TO DAY INFORMATION.
